Com Alma (literally – With Soul), located in Aljezur, it's a space with a truly pleasant and cool atmosphere, perfect for groups and families, where it is possible to enjoy true Italian and Portuguese seasonings and condiments.
Right in the centre of Aljezur, Com Alma opened in 2007 with a menu of undeniable contemporary recipes, a great alternative to the area’s traditional cooking. The kitchen and management of Com Alma are the responsibility of César and Patrícia, the couple who owns it. The commitment and pleasure they dedicate to every detail of their restaurant is notorious. With a modern and relaxed atmosphere, one of the main features is the slated walls and counter where the youngsters write and paint according to their inspiration and imagination. They have an exclusive room full of toys where they can have a lot of fun, while the parents enjoy a few deserved moments of relaxation while having their meal. The surprise lies in the back of the restaurant: a very pleasant indoor patio (reservations in advance for the indoor patio are recommended, especially for summer evenings).
The main offer is their thin and crunchy pizzas. The pizza dough comes from a secret and homemade recipe, and the ingredients are always fresh and of the highest quality. The menu is quite varied, but you can always opt for different types of pasta (try the Lasagna Com Alma, stuffed with irresistible poultry sausage and sautéed spinach); or the steak accompanied with Mr. Zé’s potatoes which come from a plot of land right next door to Com Alma. Salads are always fresh and tasty as well as the appetizers such as steer carpaccio, stuffed mushrooms or grilled asparagus. To sweeten your mouth, try the chocolate mousse cake or the pannacotta, some of Com Alma’s suggestions for dessert. Caipirinhas, mojitos, sangria, natural fruit juices and the house wine (from Pias) are fantastic choices to accompany any meal.
While in Aljezur, climb up to the ruins of the tenth century Arab castle, where one can enjoy a magnificent view over Aljezur’s tilled plains. The beaches are a must: from the vast Amoreira beach to Arrifana surf beach, Monte Clérigo and several other beaches one might want to discover.
