Herdade do Freixial is located in the outskirts of Vila Nova de Milfontes, on Mira River's right bank. Taking advantage of this privileged location, its owners turned into a “rural tourism” unit with 3 bedrooms and 5 apartments with one and two bedrooms.
It is a 120 hectare estate owned and run by Fernando Cintra do Vale and his family, namely his daughters Sofia and Filipa.
From the existing ruins, Fernando Vale built 4 one bedroom apartments, 1 two bedroom apartments and 3 double bedrooms, all of them with wi-fi, plasma screen, satellite TV, Blue Ray and DVD. The decoration is sober and the small terraces are an invitation to enjoy an outdoor meal or just plain leisure moments. Three of the houses are equipped with whirlpool, with larger outdoor and indoor areas.
At Herdade do Freixial cork and pine trees abound. Its ex-libris is the leisure area with a breathtaking view of the Mira River. The areas surrounding it and the services offered (overflowing swimming pool, spa, Turkish baths, outdoor jacuzzi, massage lounge, children's swimming pool and slide and a small children's playground) are a hard to resist invitation. With the same breathtaking view, Herdade do Freixial also offers a 40 seat conference room/exhibition hall equipped with a video projector, and a buffet breakfast lounge that can be turned into a banquet hall for private events. During Summer Herdade do Freixial serves light meals from 4pm on.
There is direct access to Mira River, trekking paths, quad rides and yoga classes subject to previous appointment.
Besides Vila Nova de Milfontes, about 2kms away, where the variety of restaurants and night-life is quite well-known, there is plenty to see, do and visit in the entire region: try the surf classes or the ocean or river boat rides; enjoy this coastal area's magnificent beaches such as Furnas, Malhão or Aivados.
