Casas do Moinho are located on a hill nearby Odeceixe, by a windmill, overlooking the river Seixe that lazily meanders through the plains down to the ocean.
Sandra and Arnaldo are passionate about the region for several years, and are true connoisseurs of the charms of rural tourism, after several vacations spent in Portugal and abroad, where they always searched for inspiration in natural and authentic locations. In 2004, they decided to leave their city life behind and moved to Odeceixe where they started a village tourism project that stands out for its quality.
The project consists of 8 typical village houses, all T0 type, that can accommodate up to 3 or 4 people, with well defined resting areas. The houses were rebuilt according to its original and typical style, with nothing but the best materials. The main concepts behind its interior design are comfort and a feeling of peacefulness and well-being. The units are equipped with heated floors, TV LCD and DVD player, a well furbished kitchenette and a private porch. They also include a country style breakfast and daily housekeeping. Casas do Moinho are equipped with a swimming pool, jacuzzi and an outdoor relaxing area, a barbecue, a bar that serves light meals, a living room with a fireplace and a vast collection of DVD's at the guests' disposal.
Odeceixe was upgraded from village to town in the twenty first century but maintained its village character, with small white houses, narrow streets, a central square with coffee shops and restaurants and a mixture of country and sea, so characteristic of Vicentina Coast. At Casas do Moinho you'll feel that you are part of this rural environment. From your doorstep, you can easily walk down to the market, the kiosk, the coffee shop or the windmill, still working and open to the public, while you stop for a chat with one of the locals, that will tell you the stories of the place.
Located right at the border between Alentejo and Algarve regions, between the river and the ocean, Odeceixe Beach is one of the best beaches of this coast and the plain one crosses to get to it, rich in rurality, beauty and biodiversity. Whether you head north, south or east, many other attractions await you, ready to make your summer or winter days absolutely unforgettable, or else you wouldn't be right at the heart of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park.
